The Kollur “Shree Kshethram,” is located in Udupi District the state of Karnataka. This temple is one of the seven holy places which are created by Parashurama. This sacred place was established by Adi Shankaracharya and it is dedicated to Goddess Shakti.
Devi Mookambika is a Diety of worshiped here as the Goddess of Power (Shakti) she has defeated the demon named Mookasura who was so cruel at this place. The unique Jyothirlinga in the temple represents Adi Shakti. The left side of the Linga shows Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi of the Diety actually these are all forms of the godess.while the right side represents Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. A golden chain divides the Linga into these two sides. These sides are reperesentically symbolizing Shakti on the left and Shiva on the right.
Adi Shankaracharya is a major concern for setting up a statue of the Goddess on a Sri Chakra Yantra after she has appeared to him during meditation. For these he build a idol of her.. His seat or Peetha is located on the western side of the temple’s sanctum. The rituals in the temple are still performed according to the Vijayagama system introduced by Adi Shankaracharya.

Medical Facilities:
For your care of you fell ill a Government Hospital is located within the range of 500 meters of the temple for any emergency medical care. Or you can dail the hospital number.
Community Halls:
The temple has two auditoriums available for rent. Any one who wants to do any function Auditorium has seating capacity upto 1,000 people and the second one Sarvamangala Auditorium has a capacity of 500 people.
Facilities for Disabled and Senior Citizens:
If you are disabled or senior citizen don’t worry you have some Special arrangements which are allowable for disabled and senior devotees to enter the temple directly without need of waiting in the general queue.

The temple provides free lunch and dinner to devotees:

Special Darshan:
If you are wanting to seek some special darshan then devotees can opt for Special Darshan through the north entrance for a fee of Rs. 100.

Devotees can purchase photos and books about the history and legends of Shree Mookambika Devi. At the stationary which is available at the outside of the temple at the stairs
Vehicle Parking:
A parking area is available on the northern side of the temple for vehicles. For your vehicles don’t forget to take the parking tickets
Footwear Stand:
A facility to safely keep footwear is provided in front of the temple.
Bathing Places:
The Kashi Theertha and Agni Theertha rivers merge to form the Sowparnika River, about 0.5 km from the temple.
Bathing facilities are available on the riverbanks and at the Kashi Theertha.
Drinking Water:
Drinking water is provided on the northern side of the temple’s outer area. Taps for washing hands and feet are available near the temple’s entrance.
