Saptashrungi is a famous Hindu temple which is located at about a 60 kilometers (37 miles) from Nashik in Maharashtra India. It is believed that the goddess Saptashrungi Nivasini stays in the seven mountain peaks that surround the area. The name “Sapta” means seven and “Shrungi” means peaks this temple it symbolizing the seven peaks that form the landscape of this spiritual destination. The temple is located in Nanduri village in Kalwan Taluka near Nashik and is a place of devotion and faith for many devotees.

The temple is especially significant and as it is considered to be the one of the “three and a half Shakti Peethas” of Maharashtra and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the Indian subcontinent generally, these 51 Shakti peethas has most significance in india. According to this is where Sati’s (the first wife of Lord Shiva) right arm fell making it a highly devoted placed of the peethas, The main deity is Saptashrungi Devi is adorned with beautifully with a large silver mask and her idol is carved on a rock. The temple is located are the 1,230 meters (4,035 feet) above sea level offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and hills. If you are willing to go please be careful while telling.

To reach the temple the devotees should have to climb 510 steps or instead of that use the ropeway facility that has been installed for easier access it is safe one. Festivals like Chaitra Purnima and Navratri are celebrated here with a great enthusiasm, attracting thousands of devotees during these times. The temple has best visuals and peaceful atmosphere for those who really appreciate the idols making it a peaceful place for meditation and prayer. Additionally many pilgrims undertake the journey to this temple as part of their spiritual yatra (pilgrimage).
